Ralph a Claus

Amelia and I waiting in line. It was like target on a black friday. (you can't see because everyone is a few feet shorter than us, but it was crazy)
Amelia entirely enamored with Santa... couldn't even look up for awhile.

Amelia's Preschool does the nativity

Amelia had a hard time keeping on her angel costume... I don't blame her, all it was was a pillowcase and some construction paper.

Here is her entire class, plus one baby brother, getting ready to perform for all the parents.
The audience. This little sweetie is Jane's friend, Rebecca.

Glad to hear everyone's response to my poyem

Now, to introduce the anti-boredom remedy.....
I have been taking Zumba for about 3 months now, and was recently asked to teach/sub. (you can imagine how my vain self took the offer) Anyway, I'm getting certified on Jan 7th to teach Zumba. I'm really excited. Punjab told me I should do this 18 months ago. It took me a long time to realize she was inspired/smart. So, the good news is I will be in front of a mirror dancing (my personal dream fulfilled) while dozens of ladies are required to mimic my every move.

uh oh. only 1 comment on the last post.....

I guess it's time to up the ante. Try to entertain the masses. Come up with that one, general yet clever, joke. Here goes:
A Poem For the Wilsons: (poem pronounced 'poyem' in the traditional hurricane heritage way)

I'm one of seven. Seven clever children that have all made their print in the world

Sarah, it seems, is off doctoring ill. Fixing them up and sending their bill.
Adam, it seems, is planning everyone's lives. helping them move to mansions from dives.
Luke makes a buck from nothing at all, he's never been busy, please give him a call.
Marv's into plants and making them breed. It's not actually decent, but mouths it will feed.
Eli will 'make things' with tools and his brain. No one knows what it's called. It hasn't a name.
I, well, we'll get to me later. Let's just say now that I get greater and greater.
Leah does numbers and fails at things. Like big state playoffs and having men give her rings.

I took the 'road less traveled' and refused education. "I've a mind of my own and don't need a vocation"
I'll live off the land and raise children by dozens. We'll get by on the mercy of aunts/uncles/and cousins.
I will 'find myself' while they're all hard at work. I'll spend time smelling the roses and playing in dirt.
"they'll do 9 to 5's, we'll see where it gets 'em. In the meantime, I find, I'm bored to my whit's end."

the girls

These are Amelia singing and Jane trying graham crackers. Yesterday Amelia was wrapping Jane up in paper towels (imagine a baby mummy) I thought it was funny how they were playing together, but the real joy came when I realized Amelia was singing "we'll have you washed and dried; primed and polished til you glow with pride" to Jane. Yep the matchmaker song from Mulan. She was gussying Jane up for marriage. So cute.

a little hocus pocus....

Happy Halloween!!! This year Joe and I were a little bit late planning the costumes, so we rant to walmart a few hours before the spooking began and let Amelia choose this witch outfit. She was debating between this and iron man. Jane got to use some hand me downs from good old cousin Tris. Amelia loved dressing up and telling everyone she was a "mean witch" with a "scary green face". The face makeup didn't last long, you can see she wiped a patch off even before the photo shoot. Jane was being tended by an obliging Leah. Please note Jane's huge and wonderful thighs in the last picture.

Joe opted to be a five-minute zombie (meaning, of course, that we threw his outfit together in five minutes) Jane was a care bear, I was an indian/snake charmer/woman with the cool outfit that Min's mom gave us, Amelia the witch, and Cocoa (who has recently become a house dog... gasp) was even sporting a festive necktie.

Amelia or Jane?

My kids look so much alike. This is a picture of one of them. Try and decide.

I seriously let my kid do this.....

Amelia has weird interests. She's into whirlpools, bugs, anything 'scary', and princesses. (One of these things just doesn't belong) Today she asked me, very sweetly, if she could please go hold a snake. I told her that she could hold something from the yard instead... hoping for a potato bug... but she found snails. I couldn't go back on my word, so she held them, squished them, snuggled them, etc.  And then there's nice, clean Jane.

Some pictures

These are from our Vegas trip last weekend. So nice to swim!!!!!!
Don't know why Joe looks like he's got linebacker makeup on... weird.

pictures

This is Amelia doing her favorite thing... dressing up. She loves to play with shoes and dress up clothes. She calls herself the 'princess'. Reminds me how my Dad used to call all little girls princesses. He must've taught her a thing or two before she came to us.

and here she is with her full body 'make up'.

Amelia doesn't like to be very far from her sister, Jane. Happily, Jane loves to be by Amelia. And that's
despite the occasional rough housing she endures from her.

Sweet baby Jane. She has the  most wonderful disposition. It helps that she's adorable, too.

Amelia's first and last day of school. We decided to wait unit she was closer to 4. (All the kids in her class were 4)

Amelia's Party

Amelia's birthday party was a hawaiian luau. We had water games, a slip'n'slide, one hundred water balloons, cake, pinata, and lots of friends. This first pic was taken  right after we cracked open the pinata and the kids were all trying to get their share of treats. Joe too, apparently.
Amelia the birthday queen! She's three years old! She looks the part  for a hawaiian luau girl, doesn't she?
The super fun and super easy/cheap slip'n'slide. It got broken just a half hour into the party so we had our handy helper, JR, use the hose to keep it wet.
Some of the other attractions
Some of the decor

And finally, Jane, our main attraction. Thank you for posing, grandmas!

Lazy Summer

This is a post from Joe.  I just wanted to put this picture on here cause I look so dang good.  No, I just wanted to try it out, you know posting on our blog.  This summer has been superb.  Part of me wishes we could say we went on vacation and had a bunch of fun doing this or that, but I am content to say that we have spent all summer together.  Just chilling at home and trying to get out of as many obligations as possible so that we can spend time together.  I love our little family.

been a long time been a long time been a long lonely lonely lonely time

For those of my friends who don't have a healthy relationship with led zep, just disregard the title of this blog and don't waste time thinking I'm pointlessly repetitive.

ahh, Amelia. She's doing her 'arts and craft time' here, and was too involved with glitter glue to take a split second to look up. Yes, her hair looks like that most days. Then again, we don't go anywhere anyway...
and here is little baby Jane. I put this one up so you can appreciate just how much the little fatty has changed.

WHAM! She's exploded.

and here she is, about to sneeze, watch out!
