My Girls

These first two pics have a story. I ask Amelia, probably daily, to smile for a picture. She has taken to ignoring me and closing her eyes. This morning while I was out and about with the camera, I said to Amelia, "Say cheese" so she grabs a bite of cheese off her plate and sticks it on her eye. See figure 1. Then I take it away from her and tell her to say cheese again. It still didn't work. This disobedience thing is irritating. Then again, there have been several famous disobedient daughters. Ariel "went to the surface", Belle went to the "west wing" and even Mulan disobeys and goes off to war. So maybe it's actually a glimpse of the disney princess she'll become.....

the girls and rob

I love the pictures of the girls together. Amelia is infatuated with Jane. Someone's hair to brush, someone's eyes to poke, someone who still wears diapers too.... it's been wonderful for her. Mom and Rob came over to help the other night when Joe was out. This is them in her room, mom reading to her while Amelia covered Rob's face with her blankets. It was great.

Tons of Pictures- Hooray!

Thanks to Aunt Erika for the cool blankets. I see where Amanda got her genes. (That hat she made was so cool)  Today has been a little better for Amelia. Janalee is awesome and calls frequently asking if she can come tend Amelia to give me a break... what a sister in law! So Amelia is with kate and I'm sure they're having a riot and jana is following them around cleaning things up.

A distraught insect

This is my sad bee. Amelia has had a bit of a hard time adjusting to baby jane. I don't know what was frustrating her here, but it was really cute...

The last few days

Joe took the top one while he was up at night with Jane. Yes, he does shifts with me. Yes, I have the nicest husband in the world. Yes, he is sexy too. Jane still grimaces here and there, even when he shaves off the prickly beard. I love her pirate eye.

Amelia's Babysitter....

So Joe and I bought a playset for Amelia about three weeks before Jane was born. It took him a long time to set it up, and has been overheard saying that "they should pay you to take these things off their hands and put them together...." But now that it's erected Amelia has had a nice time having something to go and do outside, especially if mom is busy with the baby. See figure 1.
